FAMILY BACKGROUND:
A young family of three in Ridgefield Park is asking for help after an especially hard year financially. The father is the only one working, while the mother stays home to care for their son, who is about to turn 2. After rent, bills and basic household expenses, there is very little left for clothing, shoes and other necessities. Their son is a loving, curious little boy who enjoys exploring and playing. He receives therapy for a small developmental delay in the cognitive area, so toys that help him learn, build skills and play independently are especially meaningful. The father works in a cold environment, and it has been about a year since he could buy new work clothes; some of his work pants are worn through with holes. The mother asks only for basic clothing and a warm winter coat. They do not expect everything on their lists and say even one gift or needed item would be received with tremendous gratitude.
