FAMILY BACKGROUND:
A mother in Wharton is raising six children on her own. After her divorce, she and four of the children spent almost a year in a shelter. Now she is starting over, living on her own with the kids and working to provide for them. Her oldest is in her last year of middle school and helps her mother every day. Her second daughter is very smart and takes advanced classes. Her son is the star of the house and loves playing ball, another son loves to play all the time, and the two babies are happy with their big brothers and sisters. Money is very tight, and she would be so happy for each of her children to receive a gift this Christmas.
