This single mother is raising her 10-year-old son, a 4th grader with special needs who lost his father when he was 4. She was doing fine until this year, when she was removed from her managerial position because she could not find childcare at 4:30 in the morning for her son, and her pay was cut dramatically. She is also helping her college-age daughter, whose car was a total loss in the nor’easter flooding. Between bills, college costs and needing a new vehicle, the family is in a very tough spot, and a little help would take some of the strain off her plate.
