FAMILY BACKGROUND:
A 65-year-old divorced father in Haddonfield started working at 14 and spent years running his own pizzeria, often on his feet more than 12 hours a day, before working as a delivery driver until he retired. Health problems, divorce and retirement have left him with about $600 a month in Social Security after Medicare, which does not cover his property taxes, insurance, groceries and car repairs. He has always helped others when he could, and this Christmas he could use a little help himself.
