FAMILY BACKGROUND:
A U.S. Army veteran in Toms River served as an infantryman from 2007 to 2011 and deployed to Iraq. Today he lives with PTSD, and his wife is his caregiver through the VA Caregiver Support Program. Two years ago he had spinal fusion surgery on his lower back and had to teach himself to walk again, and the injury forced him to leave his full-time job. He is now a full-time college student studying Business and Public Administration. With the mortgage and household bills a constant struggle, there is very little left for the holidays. He, his wife and their 15-year-old son would be deeply grateful for a Christmas filled with joy.
